Our Mission
The purpose of The University of Maryland School of Dentistry Global Dental Organization is to create a forum for dental students to participate in discussions, advocacy, and projects regarding the advancement of global dental health and to connect with mentors working internationally.
Our mission is to increase awareness of issues in global dentistry through education and service, and to promote the global externships offered to UMSOD students.
Our vision is to promote a multidisciplinary approach to global health, which incorporates the knowledge and expertise of each of the professional schools on campus.
We will work within the SOD Office of International Affairs and collaborate with the UMB network (facilitated by the Student Center for Global Education) and throughout the Baltimore community.
The group aims to contribute to the advancement of global dentistry, as well as to broaden the scope of student’s global perspectives.
